ABOUT ME
Chanella Djamilla (CTAR) is a Rwandan dancer, choreographer, and multifaceted creative studying at the African Leadership University. The self-taught artist has over 10 years of experience—four of them professional. Chanella refuses to confine herself to one style, moving seamlessly through ballet, contemporary, jazz funk, hip hop, sensual pop, and afro dance.
For Chanella Djamilla, dance is more than movement—it's a way to feel, heal, connect, and create. Her artistry has led her to major stages across Rwanda and beyond, including performances at Move Afrika with Kendrick Lamar, the 2024 BAL Opening Ceremony with Adekunle Gold, and the Trace Awards alongside icons like Davido and Yemi Alade.
She is the founder of Nala Base, a dance initiative empowering young women through movement, career mentorship, and financial literacy. Inspired by her journey, Chanella continues to explore, evolve, and dream big—turning passion into purpose through every performance.
"My mission is to create bold, unapologetic work that celebrates African identity and redefines the boundaries of movement, storytelling, and creative leadership—especially for young African women."
